PUERARIA LOBATA
Documented for its potent antioxidant properties, multiple studies have proven that Pueraria Lobata has estrogenic effects, and can be used as a natural alternative to hormone replacement therapy. In addition to properties that effectively treat menopause symptoms, maintain bone, liver, and cartilage health and antioxidants that prevent oxidative stress, this ingredient is interestingly known in Latin as “Connected with youth.”
PUERARIA MIRIFICA
This key ingredient is essential for Nomeno Enhanced’s rejuvenating factors as it contains phytoestrogens, which mimic the effects of estrogen that occurs naturally in the body. Pueraria Mirifica is a potent remedy for health issues related to imbalanced hormones in women, and is especially helpful during menopause.
WHY IS ESTROGEN THE ESSENCE
OF WOMANHOOD?
In women, there are two main sex hormones: estrogen and progesterone. Estrogen is responsible for the development and maintenance of the reproductive system and female physical features, such as the formation of breast tissue, regulation of menstrual cycle, etc. - biological traits aspects that characterize womanhood. As women age and especially when menopause sets in, estrogen levels dip significantly. Insufficient estrogen may result in the acceleration of physical signs of ageing, such as loss of skin elasticity, the appearance of wrinkles, dry skin, dull skin tone, mood swings, and even depression
Estrogen defines the essence of womanhood as it plays a key role in a woman’s overall well-being.
WHY DO ESTROGEN LEVELS
START DECLINING IN WOMEN?
Biologically, the life stages of a woman are divided into infancy, puberty/adolescence, sexual maturation (reproductive age), pre-menopausal period, and post-menopausal stage. The levels of the 2 main sex hormones - estrogen and progesterone - reach their peak at around 35 years, which is part of the sexual maturation/reproductive age. The levels of both hormones start their gradual decline after they reach their peak. Around 45 to 55 years of age, or the menopausal period, the levels decline dramatically until they reach their lowest point and then stabilize - this is when the post-menopausal stage begins. You may refer to the chart below.
The declines in hormonal levels have always been associated with health problems in women, especially during the menopausal period.
WHAT ARE PHYTOESTROGENS
AND THEIR HEALTH BENEFITS?
Phytoestrogens are naturally occurring compounds found in plants and plant-based foods. They have a similar chemical structure to that of estrogen. When they enter the body, the body’s estrogen receptors treat them like they are estrogen. Therefore, they can function like estrogen and provide the same health benefits as those provided by estrogen, but with weaker effects.
Scientific studies have shown that phytoestrogens are beneficial for women looking to maintain the healthy functions of estrogen, especially for those approaching menopause in their early 40s, when their hormone levels fluctuate and cause a variety of health problems.
